Kwik Fit Plus - giving commercial vehicle owners a real alternative
Kwik Fit | Monday 19th May 2014 12:00pm
Kwik Fit is changing. There’s no doubt about it, and while we continue to grow as the nation’s favourite fast-fit provider, we’re also expanding our light commercial vehicle capability. The number of vans on Britain’s roads continues to rise rapidly, so it should come as no surprise that we are making adjustments to many of our centres to ensure that we are able to provide mechanical services for businesses operating light commercial vehicle fleets as well as privately owned vans.
No better can this be seen that at our growing number of new Kwik Fit Plus centres. These centres, which form part of our ongoing refurbishment and modernisation programme, offer a customer experience and quality of service like you would expect from a franchise dealership. Each centre has its own ‘master technician’ – a member of staff trained to the highest level recognised by the Automotive Technician Accreditation, ensuring that your fleet is in good hands. The majority of Kwik Fit Plus centres have also been equipped with five tonne lifts which means we are also able to carry out Class 7 MOTs on commercial vehicles weighing 3000-3500kg.
Four Kwik Fit Plus Centres have already been launched at Warrington, Dereham, Slough & Tonbridge with many more due to open shortly. We hope to introduce a further 50 centres every year.
In addition, we’re taking steps to ensure that the vast majority of our 600 UK centres can accommodate light commercial vehicles including long-wheel base and hi-roof models, with specialist equipment for commercial vehicles being installed in many centres and additional training for staff. We’re also expanding our range of tyres available in centres that are suitable for commercial vehicles giving you a wider choice of budget, mid and premium tyres.
Pete Marden, Kwik Fit’s UK fleet business development manager for SMR and MOT said: “Kwik Fit is providing businesses operating light commercial vehicle fleets an alternative option to using either franchise dealers or garages that specialise in HGVs for their service, maintenance and repair work.
“Whether an organisation is operating a car derived van or the very largest long wheel base, hi-roof panel van, Kwik Fit are able to meet their requirements.”
To make it easier for you to find a Kwik Fit centre with light commercial vehicle capability, we will be updating our website shortly to include specific details of the facilities available at each centre.
