MINI Cooper Tyres
We may often overlook our tyres, but they're some of the most important parts of our cars – keeping your MINI Cooper on the road, maintaining traction, and stopping and starting safely!
And while they might be something you rarely think of, you certainly do think about them when they've picked up a puncture.

Do I need tyres specifically for MINI Cooper?
Your local Kwik Fit centre offers a range of tyres suitable for your MINI Cooper – you'll need to choose compatible tyres that are the correct size for your wheels, but they don't have to be tyres specifically designed for your MINI Cooper.
That said, manufacturer approved tyres or original equipment tyres are available and are always preferable as they are recommended by the car manufacturer and provide optimum performance.
Is it worth opting for premium tyres for my MINI Cooper?
When it comes to choosing tyres for your MINI Cooper and the relative benefits of each tyre brand, the scale of bang for your buck is usually from Budget, to Mid Range, to Premium, and finally Manufacturer Approved.
Budget tyres will do the job if they're the only ones you can afford, but the lower build quality will often mean you need to replace them more frequently – costing more in the long run.
Premium tyres make the most of the technical research conducted by premium tyre manufacturers such as Pirelli, Goodyear, and Michelin to create a generally more robust, higher performing tyre compared to budget alternatives.
Manufacturer approved tyres, on the other hand, are specifically developed and approved to meet the requirements of your MINI Cooper. They go through rigorous testing to ensure that they can take anything you throw at them and still shine.
Opting for premium or manufacturer approved tyres, while slightly costlier at outset, will usually result in a lower lifetime cost because you won't have to replace them as often, not to mention the added performance benefits that these tyres usually possess such as improved fuel efficiency, braking and handling.
You then might pay more for specific tyre features such as Run Flat tyres which stay inflated when punctured, Extra Load tyres that can hold heavy cargos and are ideal for vans, and rim protectors which protect the wheel rims from curb damage.
